Grading Scheme: The grading in this course is as follows:

Homework, 10%.

Exam 1, Wednesday, February 20th: 18%. Sample

Exam 2, Wednesday, March 20th: 18% (last day to drop is March 29th).

Exam 3, Friday, May 3rd: 18%.

Final, Wednesday, May 15th, 10:10am: 36%.
There is no preset correlation between numerical grades and your final
letter grade. A letter grade (without + or -) will be included with the
return of each exam and will cover all exams up to then. Late homework
will be accepted but is subject to a penalty. The penalty is minor
for students who complete most homeworks on time, but is more severe for
chronic abusers.
Office Hours: If you need to see me, please look for me during
the office hours posted below, or please make an appointment. If there
is no one in my office during the last half of the office hour, I will
feel free to leave, so please arrive early. Office hours begin the second
week of classes. Exam week office hours (if any) will be posted later.

January 22nd: Classes begin.

January 28th: Final date for late registration, course additions, changes,
or fee payment (with late fees). None of these will be accepted after
August 31st at 5:00pm.

February 8th: Last day to inform me of anticipated absences due to
religious holidays.

Febrary 18th: Washington's Birthday recess.

March 1st: Final day to withdraw (from all courses) with a 50% refund.

March 24th: Spring Break begins

March 29th: Final day to drop or withdraw from classes.

March 31st: Spring break ends.

May 6th -- 10th: Study Week -- classes scheduled.

May 13th -- 18th: Final Exams.
