Welcome to NSHE SSPO

The System Sponsored Programs Office (SSPO) receives federal, state and county awards for Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) statewide programs. SSPO provides administration of the programs to include financial management, project management, subawards, and sub-monitoring.

Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) programs are administered through the SSPO office. The goal of the EPSCoR is to stimulate sustainable improvements in the quality of academic science and technology infrastructure of eligible states. These research programs request that cost sharing is provided by the state and the NSHE institutions.

Through the EPSCoR programs solicitations, poster sessions, scholarships and faculty research initiatives are focused on NSHE faculty, students and national laboratory collaborations.

The SSPO's mission is to provide cradle-to-grave support for EPSCoR and other major programs that involve NSHE-wide coordination and distribution of funds. This support includes:

  • proposal development and submission
  • grant and contract negotiation
  • account set-up for awards to include subawards to NSHE institutions and to universities in other states
  • account management
  • preparation, receipt, review, and allocation of intra-system solicitations
  • planning and coordination of outreach activities
  • coordination and submission of technical reports
  • financial reporting
  • resolution of ad hoc issues and/or requests
