College Access Challenge Grant Program

Activities

  • Conduct before and after campaign student surveys to understand college-going (including technical and vocational options) attitudes and awareness levels.
  • Increase access to “Go To College” materials.
  • Develop and run television, print, and radio ads starring recognizable professionals in high-need industries in Nevada.
  • Coordinate classroom visits in grades three, six, eight by K-12 representatives, postsecondary professionals, or business leaders to stress need for rigorous curriculum and encourage students to continue education after high school.
  • Host multiple meetings and workshops for teachers and counselors to train in outreach and college application assistance.
  • Create a sustainable statewide network of education stakeholders to share information and coordinate efforts regarding college access and success for low-income students.
