The University of Nevada, Reno, and Desert Research Institute (DRI) invite you to participate in the 2009 International Symposium on Terminus Lakes in Reno, Nevada.
Inspired by the collaborative research findings of the University and DRI in the Walker Basin Project, the Symposium will feature terminus lakes research of scientists across the nation and internationally.
Invited speakers, including a keynote address, will present on both international and western United States terminus lakes research.
Findings of the Walker Basin Project will also be presented. This project involves both environmental and economic research, primarily in northern Nevada, of the Walker Lake watershed. Walker Lake is one of three desert terminus lakes in North America with a fresh water fishery.
Field trips to Walker and Pyramid Lakes, both near Reno, will be available.
Lodging and Solicitation of Abstracts
Arrangements have been made for participants to stay at the Silver Legacy Resort Casino. A call for papers for oral presentations will be posted by the middle of April 2009.
