Correspondence and technical resources
I welcome the submission of solutions (from participants of the winter
camp) to the exercises mentioned above. Please write up solutions
in LaTeX or TeX. I will try to publish those solutions here.

LaTeX is a program that produces publishing grade output (most of the above
handouts were produced using LaTeX). It was designed for scientific
publishing, so in particular, handles equations very well. The source
code (what I am asking from you) is in ascii format (the characters of
a regular keyboard), so is easy to email. LaTeX compilers are available
for free and for several different platforms (unix, Mac, PC) from http://www.ctan.org
. They also have a starter
page, for the novice. The PC version is MikTeX, which is available
from their site, http://www.miktex.org
. I recommend too the use of Winedt, a front end for PC's (which
simplifies producing TeX documents). This is available (for trial
periods or purchase) from http://www.winedt.com
. They also have links to other LaTeX resources. Mac and unix
users -- you're on your own. I also found a primer for LaTeX at the
Pi Mu Epsilon website. This

output.

Diagrams: I can include diagrams in LaTeX documents, but it takes
some work. I suggest creating diagrams using Geometer's sketchpad
and sending those to me. In your TeX documents, include the line
"INSERT DIAGRAM <name> HERE." I will insert them myself.
If you are using Cabri or Cinderella, let me know what outputs they can
create (wmf, pdf, eps, the like) and I'll let you know what I can handle.

Adobe Acrobat: The final product is a pdf file, which is readable
using Adobe Acrobat, a program available for free from Adobe.
