I.  Academic Background

I earned my doctoral degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara under the supervision of Professor Milton Sobel and Professor S. Rao Jammalamadaka. The topic of my dissertation is about decision-theoretic approach and related problems on the number of categories in multinomial distributions using Ranking and Selection Methodologies (RSM).  è Curriculum Vitae

II.  Research Activities & Writings

Research Interests: My main areas are in statistical decision theory, sequential methods, sampling theory, nonparametric statistical methods and clinical trials. In particular, my interests involve in the development of those methodologies on applications.  I am also interested in the areas of numerical methods, radial basis functions (RBF), method of fundamental solutions (MFS), and the application of partial differential equations (PDF).  è Research & Publications

Monographs: I coauthored a book on Regression Analysis in 2004.  è Book webpage

III.  My Pedagogy and Teaching

Teaching is always fun and excited because it is an art. I have been teaching a wide range of courses in Statistics, Probability and Mathematics in both undergraduate and graduate levels. I am actively involving the development of the Curriculum and Academic Program and course proposals to strengthen the graduate program.  è Teaching & Class Materials

IV.  Honors and Awards

·         Fellow, Wessex Institute of Technology, Southampton, United Kingdom.

V.  Other Professional Activities

I participate in regional statistical meetings or international conferences three to four times per year. The Joint Statistical Meeting (JSM) is one of them. Once in a while, I bring my family to JSM together. While I attend the sessions and events or give a presentation in a conference, my wife and my daughter usually enjoy city tour, visiting museum or shopping.
