Introduction

Now that we have elected a new President of the United States, the Clintons must move out of the White House.  This is where you come in.  You have just been hired by "The White House Relocation Team".  Your job is to help the Clintons find a new place to live.  As members of the Relocation Team, your job is to choose a state and investigate it.  Then you will report your findings to the Clintons.  From your investigation the Clintons will decide upon where they would like to live.  Where will they go?

The Task

As members of the Relocation Team, your group has been assigned the job of researching a state for the Clintons.  Each member of your team will specialize in one of three areas described in the Process.  As a team you will be required to take notes and work together to develop a persuasive Hyperstudio presentation for the Clintons.  Their moving decision depends upon your teams presentation.

The Process

The following steps will help you complete your task.

Step 1.  First, you will be assigned by your teacher to a group consisting of three members.  Next, you should visit the Clintons to find out some
information about them.  Visit the Clintons here!

Step 2.  Here your team must choose a state.  You must all agree on which state you would like to investigate. Choose a state here!

Step 3.  Now you will decide which specific role you would like to perform.  To find out the specific tasks for each role, click on the name of the job.  Look at the task assigned to each role before making your choice.  Make sure you understand the role you choose.

Roles
Historian
Geographer
Entertainment Director

Step 4.  After you have chosen a role, visit the Interent sites assigned to your role.  Use the questions provided to help you with your investigation.  Do not limit yourself to only the questions provided.  As you visit each site, take notes on what you feel relates to your role.  Make sure to look for pictures to include in your presentation.

Step 5.  Once each team member has all their information, get together as a team.  Discuss the information each team member has located.  Decide what information you would like to include in your presentation.

Step 6.  Organize the information your team will include in the final presentaion.  To do this make a story web using the software program Inspiration.  Start with your state in the center of your web and branch out with the different roles each team member has.  You should then make further branches about each of those roles.

Step 7.  Now that you have your information organized begin your final project using Hyperstudio.  You should begin with a title card that names the state, your names, and a picture of the state.  Each additional card should contain the role and the information that goes with that role.  Your presentation should be persuasive explaining why the Clintons should move to that state.  You may also include props in your presentation.

Step 8.  At the completion of your project your team should practice your presentation.  After practicing, your team will present your final project to the whole class.  Each member of the team will present his/her part.
