Quizzes: There will be weekly quizzes on Thursdays/Fridays, except during test weeks. Questions will be based predominantly on
homework sets assigned from the text; a complete list is on the class website. Changes may be added later. You are expected to be able to solve these and similar problems. There will be no make-up quizzes. Since anybody can have a sick day or sudden catstrophe, the lowest quiz score will be dropped.
Online Homework: Online homework problems will be assigned weekly (through WebAssign) with instantaneous feedback. There is a fee for using WebAssign each semester. Note that the online homework problems will be similar, but not identical, to the sets in the textbook.
Test Make-up Policy: Make-up exams will be given only if the
instructor is notified of the UNLV excused absence at least one week before the exam. See University Regulations for details. If there is an emergency, such as a trip to the hospital, please contact me as soon as possible.
Math Tuoring Clinic: Tutoring (paid for by your calculus course fee) is available through the Department of Mathematical Sciences. The Math Clinic is located in CBC C222. For Times and contact Information, go to http://www.unlv.edu/math/math_clinic.html
Any form of academic dishonesty, such as cheating on an exam, will be
handled in accordance with official UNLV policy. (see Student Academic Misconduct Policy)
The Disability Resources Center (DRC) coordinates all academic
accomadations for all students with documented disabilities. The DRC
is the official office to review and house diability documentation for
students and to provide them with an aofficial Academic Accomadation
Plan to present to the faculty if an accomadation is warranted. The
DRC strongly encourages faculty to provide accomadations only if and
when they are in receipt of said plan. The DRC is located in the Student Services Complex (SSC),
Room 137, with contact numbers are: VOICE (702) 895-0866, TTY (702)
895-0652, FAX (702) 895-0651. For additional information, please
