From a global perspective, I tend to work on problems from the perspective of optimal control with differential equations, or ocassionally from a pseudo-dynamical systems approach (the latter description is very unofficial). The applications that I am working on currently can perhaps all be classified under ecological, natural resource, or biomedical modeling. I tend to be motivated by problems that originate in the world at large.

Most recently, I am currently working on an compartmental model of cancer and chemotherapy using ODEs and optimal control theory. A second project involves a competition model using Lotka-Volterra type system with diffusion, focussing on the search for traveling wave solutions of a three equation system.

There have been several earlier projects. One modeled invasive-native species interactions and optimized a functional. Another used stochastic optimal control while looking at pollutant transport and remediation for groundwater aquifers. For more details, use the links on the left, or contact me.
