COS 302x:
Using communication technologies to manage information

Spring 2001

How can we use technology to augment communication in both formal and informal settings? This course walks through research and theories that attempt to predict and explain social experiences with "ICTs" (information and communication technologies).

We'll also compare the social uses of ICTs evident in case studies and popular management literature. This course is highly relevant for those who are-or who plan to be-users, designers, or managers of such technologies, and for those generally interested in exploring social aspects of technological systems.

Prerequisite: Basic experience with e-mail and similar systems is desirable.
