Guides Packet (2 positions):

“The thing to remember”, said the leader, “is that you are nor really lost, the situation is not really hopeless and you are going to make it – if you keep your head (wits about you). We will be totally dependent on our team of guides to bring us back alive and in one piece. We must follow their rules. After our guides have had a chance to review this environment they’ll give us a written report.” With that the leader hands the guides their instructions.
  1. First you will be assigned a buddy.
  2. You and your partner will play the role of guide/survivalists.
  3. To prepare for this task you and your buddy must first learn about basic survival skills.

  5. When this research is over you should write a report giving an overview of survival skills and techniques. Be sure and answer the following questions in your report.

    6. List the 5 basic survival skills.
    Explain the meaning of STOP.
    Provide a list of the survival gear that the team must carry. Include an explanation of its use. It is your job to train the crew in the use of the survival equipment.
